Parents, do you know that Mrs. Miller is the HS College and Career Readiness Counselor? She regularly posts scholarship opportunities for HS juniors and seniors. Please check the Class of 2022 Google Classroom for the most recent scholarship opportunities. Scholarships are posted there individually as they open. Mrs. Miller is meeting with students individually to work on college related topics such as scholarships, essays, and FAFSA. Please email Mrs. Miller at kmiller@artsk12.org for a complete list of scholarships or to set up a meeting for college and career concerns!
Mr. Jones received word from Robert Ginsburg at the Northwest Arkansas Jazz Society that they are canceling the jazz jam this Thursday here in Fayetteville due to the icy weather. Thanks to each of you who expressed an interest in attending! You now have even more time to prepare a song that you want to bring to life on the band stand. I will be sure to let you know when the next one is scheduled for in March as soon as they give me a date. I hope you are staying warm all while while enjoying the weather, time with your families, and the opportunity to practice your instruments and create unique art.
Best Regards,
Garrett A. Jones

A friendly note that The Fayetteville Roots Fest and the Northwest Arkansas Jazz Society will be hosting their monthly all ages jazz jam at the Roots HQ on the southeast corner of the Fayetteville town square this Thursday, February 24th from 6PM to 9PM. Both listeners and performers are encouraged to attend. For more information visit the Jazz Society's web page at www.digjazz.com . If you plan on joining in with the performers, be sure to bring along your instrument and have a song prepared that you know you want to play on. This is a good opportunity to get involved with the local music scene here in NWA and meet new mentors and musical friends. If you have questions, please email Orchestra Director Garrett Jones gjones@artsk12.org

Dear AAA Community,
Today, we became aware that a “Tik-Tok Challenge” is circulating on social media for tomorrow involving school shootings and school bombings. At this time, we are not aware of any threat to our schools. However, should this change, we will notify you immediately.
Our staff is trained in handling these situations, and we are increasing our awareness on campus tomorrow. We have requested an increased police presence with the Rogers Police Department. We also have counselors who can help students process this situation if needed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your campus principal:
Elementary: Matt Young (myoung@artsk12.org)
High School: Bryan Appleton (bappleton@artsk12.org)
The safety of our students is our top priority, and we look forward to a great day of learning tomorrow.
Sincerely,
AAA Admin Team

Both concerts begin at 7:00 pm, the doors open at 6:30 pm, and they are FREE!
AAA Community,
After consultation with AAA's administrative team, we have decided it is in the best interest of everyone to postpone this weekend's performances of Elephant's Graveyard due to confirmed positive and potential close covid contacts among the cast and crew.
The new performance dates will be announced soon, but will likely occur sometime in early-mid January.
We know many families have already purchased tickets for our performances, and we will be happy to transfer your seats when the new performance dates are announced at no charge. When we publish new dates, we will transfer your ticket at no charge or issue you a full refund of the ticket price.
So sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Please be patient with us as we try our best to keep the health and safety of our students in the front of mind.
Thank you,
Jordan Haynes
Dear AAA Community,
We wanted to let you know that our high school nurse, Mrs. Morgan, stepped away from her position earlier this week. Mrs. Morgan has been a vital part of our school community for many years, and we will greatly miss seeing her each day.
Mrs. McGaugh has stepped in to help us in the nurse’s station until we fill this position. If you need assistance with medication or health services for your student, please reach out to Mrs. McGaugh: kmcgaugh@artsk12.org. You may also reach out to our Director of Nursing, Mrs. Milligan: kmilligan@artsk12.org. We have already received applications for the position, and we are beginning interviews immediately. Once we hire a replacement for Mrs. Morgan, we will reach out again and let you know.
We would also like to offer you the opportunity to extend well wishes and gratitude to Mrs. Morgan as she departs. If you would like to send her a note, please send that in an email to bappleton@artsk12.org, and we will get it to Mrs. Morgan. We will miss her compassion and empathy for our students, and we wish her the best.
Sincerely,
AAA Support Team
