Parents,
You may have received an attendance letter in the mail over the past few days, and I wanted to discuss that process with you. Our goal at Arkansas Arts Academy is to ensure students reach high levels of success and provide opportunities to participate in multiple arts programs and activities. Over the past 18 months, one thing reinforced through absences due to COVID is how critical school attendance is to student success. For this reason, we have once again started sending attendance letters when students have accrued unexcused absences. Attendance letters are mailed when a student accrues four, eight, or ten individual course absences.
We want to keep you informed of your student's attendance information to ensure they receive credit for their hard work and remain on track for graduation. If a student accrues ten or more unexcused absences in an individual class, they risk not receiving course credit regardless of their grade.
If you find an error in the reported attendance data within the letter, please reach out to me by phone or email using the contact information below and we can work to correct the errors.
Sincerely,
Dr. Bryan Appleton
High School Principal

Today 34 of our future female leaders had the opportunity to attend the NWA Women’s Conference at NWACC. The speakers shared their stories on how they have found their way in their education and careers. These women gave practical advice and asked our students to be open to opportunities that arise as they make decisions about their futures. It was a great day empowering girls to reach for the stars!
AAA Family,
The high school will be releasing at 2:00 on 10/1 and 10/8 due to road closures that involve the homecoming parades for Rogers HS and Heritage HS. These closures will not affect the elementary school. The link below will take you to the schedule that we will use for both Fridays.

Attention HS PM Car Line Pick-Up Drivers:
While car line is becoming increasingly shorter, the dangerous pickups on Poplar Street and 6th Street are becoming worse. Students are not allowed to be picked up in either of those locations for safety reasons and to prevent blocking traffic. Please pick up your student in front of the main office using the car line. I assure you both staff and parents share the same goal of the safest and quickest pickup possible. Thank you.

If you have questions as parents, you are welcome to stay after drop off or come an hour early before pick up time and we will be happy to answer any questions. Students may need a light jacket and their own lunch if they don't want to eat in the cafeteria. See you in the morning!!
School Supplies Update!
Parents and students will be able to pick up exact supply lists for courses at Open House on August 3rd. Students will only need something to write on and something to write with the first three days of school in order to allow our families to take full advantage of Arkansas's tax free weekend August 7th-8th. In addition to supplies needed for courses, each student should bring one box of facial tissue, one roll of paper towels, and one canister of sanitizing wipes. These items can be dropped off in the main office. It is also recommended that each student purchase a planner to use for organization. Thank you for choosing Arkansas Arts Academy, see you soon!
