Arkansas Arts Academy and our community mourns the recent loss of Joyce Ann Reid McConaughy. A vibrant resident of Rogers whose life’s accomplishments are extraordinary and inspiring.
A graduate from Arkansas State University, she received her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in healthcare. Joyce continued graduate studies and earned a Doctorate degree in Education, teaching at the University of Arkansas’ school of nursing. Additionally, Joyce was also a Major in the armed forces, serving active duty in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm.
During retirement Joyce enjoyed being a volunteer and became interested in the visual arts and basketry. The McConaughy Family donated her art supplies to AAA, which we are honored to receive. The supplies will be used for K-12 Arts integration and Visual Arts.
