THANK YOU to all who joined us for AAA NIGHT @ THE MUSUEM last night!
The event was a huge success with over 250 of our parents, students, teachers familes, and friends in attendance to support our talented students. This was our 8th year to host this bi-annual event and each year our students rise to the occassion to offer stellar performances with connections to the Museum's collections, architecture and grounds.
Mrs. Rebecca Cannan's HS Dancers performed a student choregraphed work that was inspired by the Museum's architecture and natural setting; the intersection of art and nature.
Mr. Jordan Hayne's Acting II students performed both entertaining and powerful pieces from the student written production the Unknowable Show. Each original piece was performed in front of Nari Ward's We The People created from individual shoestrings. A strong connection of the freedoms and independence as well as struggles and injustices within our society.
Ms. Heidee Alsdorf's elementary dance classes performed two different works. Students commanded the stages of both the Great Hall and Walker Landing with their original performances and engaged the audiences with their synchronized movements and brilliant costumes!
Dr. Patrick Sallings Jazz Band. This group of students commanded the attention of all who visited the Museum. The smooth but complex harmonies and syncopated rhythms played flowed throughout the entrance of the Museum, bringing crowds to listen to their amazing performance.
Ms. Joy Abernathy's Choir filled the space of the Great Hall with their performance of the timeless Irish song "Oh Danny Boy". The beautiful voices of the students coupled with the somber lyrics provided a powerful and moving experience.
Mr. Garret Jones' Middle School and High School Orchestras closed the event on the South Lawn with a mini-concert of compositions created for blockbuster movies and popular television.
A big THANK YOU to our arts teachers and Museum educators to make this community partnership event possible as well as our extraordinary students who are dedicated to their art form and work exceptionaly hard to showcase their skills, talents and professionalism.
