Whether your interest is in acting, directing, design, or theory the Theatre Arts

program can heighten your view of theater as a performing art and its place in society

and culture. Our seasoned and nationally recognized instructors bring their passion to

the classroom, stage, and design studios to shape and inspire the actors, directors, and

designers of tomorrow. UALR undergraduates excel because of the purposely low

student-faculty ratio which allows for hands-on training and high-level production

experience in all areas of theater. The presence in our department of the state’s

premiere Dance BFA program offers students additional real world experience as

performers, designers, and stage managers in a related art form. The broad focus of

the BA program provides an excellent foundation for developing leadership skills, the

ability to collaborate, and increased strength in critical and analytical thinking for

students pursuing a career in theater or any other career option. At UALR Department

of Theater Arts and Dance, we shape your dreams into reality.
